Nicolas Philiponnet

Nicolas Philiponnet is deputy Head of the unit in charge of policy coordination in the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN) of the European Commission. He is in particular heading a team of economists responsible for the analysis and monitoring of the euro area economy. Prior to that, he has held various positions in DG ECFIN, as policy assistant of the Director General and as economist working on the country desk for France, on the analysis of macroeconomic imbalances. Before joining the European Commission, Nicolas worked as a economist in the OECD as well as in the private sector .
